Editorial Policy

The Femme Recipe journal exists to give clear, practical answers about vaginal health, period care, and intimate wellness. These are topics where bad information causes real harm, so we hold ourselves to a simple standard: say what the evidence supports, say it plainly, and show where it comes from.

This page explains how our articles are produced, what sources we rely on, how we handle updates and corrections, and where the limits of our content are.

How our articles are produced

Our articles begin with research into the questions readers actually ask. Drafting is research-driven and AI-assisted: we use AI tools to help structure and draft articles from that research. Every article then goes through human editorial oversight before it is published, including review of the claims against the clinical references cited in the text.

We write in plain language on purpose. Medical topics do not need to be intimidating, and a clear answer at the top of the page is more useful than a long preamble. Where the honest answer is “it depends” or “see a clinician,” we say that instead of forcing certainty.

Our sourcing standards

Health claims in our articles are grounded in clinical and peer-reviewed literature, and we cite those references inline where the claim is made rather than hiding them in a bibliography. When research is mixed or early, we characterize it that way: strain-level evidence, study size, and route of administration matter, and we try not to flatten those details.

We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Where an article mentions a Femme Recipe product, that connection is visible on the page, and the educational content stands on its own regardless of what we sell.

Updates and corrections

When an article shows a “last updated” date, it reflects a genuine content revision, not a cosmetic date change. We revisit articles when evidence shifts, when readers point out gaps, or when our own review finds something to improve.

If you spot an error, we want to know. Contact us through the contact page and reference the article URL. Corrections that change the substance of an article are made in the text itself.

What our content is not

Our articles are educational. They are not medical advice, and they are not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. Bodies differ, histories differ, and a page on the internet cannot examine you. If you have symptoms that worry you, or if something is getting worse instead of better, see a qualified healthcare provider.

We currently do not claim medical review of our articles by a licensed clinician. If and when a named medical reviewer joins our editorial process, their review will be credited visibly on the articles they have reviewed.
